COMMON PROBLEMS Chatropolis is pure streaming HTML chat. It is compatible with just about every browser/ISP. There are some things that will interfere with yor chatting here. Webshields Commonly found in anti-virus and security products sometimes make Chatroplis seem to have high lag time. Disabling webshields such as AVG(Paid version) make things work perfectly. If you have a problem chatting here we have Telephone tech support for all users.

Chatropolis is a 15+ year old chat community. We started in the early '90s with no domain name and only 4 chat rooms. This was just before the Internets time of "super growth". It started as a project to see just how many people we could have on one server laying on the floor. It quickly grew to 100 rooms and 1000 users simultaneously chatting. It continues as a leader in chat comunitys to this day.

Although many people believe this was our first contact with computer chatting it was not. In the 1980's I ran a BBS (Bulletine Board System) that you had to connect to via dial up modems to chat. That experiance served Chatropolis well in the days to come. We still stick to some ideals that were born on a 286 running MajorBBS in a small apartment.

Chatropolis is now a large diverse community hosted at Peer1 on many servers. The simple days are gone but the future of Chat is more exciting. Currently we have users in 203 country's. We are in the top 100 sites of users from Botswana! We needed a map to find these users. Every day more chatters from more locations find Chatropolis and enjoy their time chatting with us.
